"I enjoy the sense of teamwork we’ve built on the PMO support team. Each team member is an expert in their discipline, and the matrixed approach to our support means that if an issue pops up, I can get support quickly to solve my problem."
What type of work do you do at Paragon?
I am a project manager and task lead on the USTRANSCOM Program Management Office (PMO) Support contract. As a project manager, I support the Government program manager for the $386M Agile Transportation for the 21st Century (AT21) program managing cost, schedule, performance and risk. As a DOD acquisition subject matter expert, I advise the PMO leadership on interpretation of acquisition policy and guidance and build action plans for implementing changes to acquisition processes and procedures.
What excites you about your work?
I enjoy the sense of teamwork we've built on the PMO support team. Each team member is an expert in their discipline, and the matrixed approach to our support means that if an issue pops up, I can get support quickly to solve my problem.
What makes Paragon a great place to work?
Paragon has done a great job of attracting quality people, who are effective at what they do, and work well as a team. I have also been impressed by the responsive relationship of Paragon leadership to both the customer and employees – they communicate openly and regularly. This communication is key to early identification of our customer's needs and providing them solutions to solve problems. I truly enjoy the "can do" attitude fostered on the Paragon team.
What traditions and/or rituals do you use to "shake up" the workday?
The Paragon AT21 team members are devoted Dilbert fans. We find that his observations are often prophetic in our daily work. I have several favorite strips and quotes on my cubicle to remind me not take things too seriously all the time.
